converting a f150 3.08 rear end to a 3.55
I recently purchased a 2000 f150 with a 4.6 engine, a standard 5 speed transmission, and a 3.08 rear end. This drive train combination produces a substantial loss in trailering capability. Can the 3.08 rear end be easily converted to a 3.55 rear end?

I echo the above post, and in response as to whether the replacement is easy, yet. I've done everything from swapping out the chunk in 9in axles to swapping out the entire rear end. If you can find a used rear axle with the wheels still attached, it makes it really easy as you just roll out one and roll in another! Otherwise you've got to fool around with gear changing, preloads... blah blah... definately not fun.
