Running boards for 1947

I am looking for a set of running boards for a 1947 1 ton pickup. Wondered if anyone might know where I might be able to locate a pair.

Sorry you didn't get any response to your question, I'll take a shot at it. Up there in PA somewhere around New Alexandria and not knowing how close you are to that place (PA is a big state)there is a place that sells used parts for old ford trucks including 42-47. http://antiquetrucks4sale.com/ . You might check it out. I plan on a trip up there to see about a used bed for my 46 1/2 ton next summer. I don't know the difference in size of running boards from the 1/2 ton and the 1 ton so I can't help much there. If you want to take the time and run down the long list from the ford barn web site http://www.fordbarn.com/v8swap/ you might stumple across a used set.

Thanks for the info...I already knew about the ford barn, but wish I had known about the place in New Alexandria. Its 4 hrs away, but I probably could have gotten a cab cheaper from there. Oh well, I bookmarked their site now. Not sure on the running boards, but most of the other sheet metal swaps from 1/2 ton to bigger. Only diff I know of is the wheel openings are bigger for the taller tires and wheels.

Alden truck about 5 years ago, phone # 716-684-7475 or www.aldentrucks.com it was way in the back of the yard right next to a 47 chevy truck. not in great shape, but it was all there, good luck, tony

I'm in the same boat as you. I have looked for a set of running boards for my 1/2 ton 46'. I have a set, but they need a lot of work, and I'm not the best at body work...
