I own two 68's currently, I would like nothing more than to see a new version of the old girl built. I agree, keep it small keep it in line with the original as far as solid front and rear axles, and removable top (wouldn't be a bronk without it). I think the fuel mileage would be decent and get an instant following. I would sign up for the first one on the lot...

While driving around the other day, I noticed a Flex waiting to make a left turn from the other direction. There seems to be a certain basic similarity between the Flex and the Bronco concept.
Perhaps the Flex could be the size & frame upon which they could base a new Bronco? Car-like ride, efficient ride, good size without being a mini Escape.
Thoughts?

If the Bronco doesn't come back as a viable off road competitor of the Jeep I believe it will only end up as a "fad" of sorts IE (FJ Cruiser) and not get the proper backing that it would need to sustain sales year after year. I really think Ford could hit another home run here like they did with the Mustang re-birth.

You make some good points.

I think the bronco needs to be sized like it was previously...hell...make it a expedition with only two doors....and solid axles.....you can even call it the expedition raptor for all i care.....
I'm not liking that as much as the more rugged Super Duty body and drivetrain. IMHO

Maybe 1 ton gear then? Never know how big I'll go with the tires

Are we conceited to defeat? I miss the old days, I think I'll go buy an old Bronco and run over a jeep.
