1bbl carbs

Where to start? I guess I'll get right to the question, I've got a 64 Ranchero that has a 68 or 9 200-6 in it. I believe the original carb was an autolite 1100, what is on there now is a Carter YF, the problem is that said carb is having major fuel issues(dumping way to much fuel down the intake, even with it leaned to within half a turn.) So I went to pick up a rebuild kit, well Advance can't even order a rebuild kit for the YF, and didn't even list the 1100 or it RR kit. They could only order me a 140$ YF.

What are yall doing to get around this???

Thanks in advance!

Lazy K is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Rebuild kit $32.50 at willysjeepparts.com probably available at other Jeep outlets also. However sounds like either your float level is too high or the float valve needs cleaned. Good luck.

Some of the 1967/72 200's used Auto-Lite carbs, some used the Carter YF carb, it depended on the application.

Example: 1967/68 200 I-6 Falcons, Fairlanes and Mustangs with C4 trannies, without a smog pump used the Carter carb, while the same cars with a smog pump used the Auto-Lite carb.

C7DZ9A586C .. Carburetor Tune-Up Kit (Motorcraft CT201A) / Obsolete

Bowman Sales & Service (Ford Dealer) in Bowman ND has one = 701-523-3257

Obsolete parts vendor Green Sales Co in Cincinnati OH has three = 800-543-4959.

Since the kit is obsolete, the Ford dealer is STUCK with it, so you might be able to buy it at dealer net (cost), which was around 12 bucks as I recall.

This same carb kit fits: 1967/72 170 & 200 I-6 Falcon/Fairlane/Torino/Mustang/Maverick/Comet/ Bronco w/Carter carbs

Hey thanks a ton guys! And some great info as well ND. This particular 200 has no egr or smog pump.
I did manage to find a rebuild kit at the local O'Reilys for 14$ and it was in stock, so I can't complain.
The even better news is that "Randy" is running like a champ once again. The issue was a cracked accel pump. I had originally thought float level as well but after adjusting that with no change I figured it was something else in the carb.

Thanks a ton guys!

just something to think about. HotRod magazine did an article last year on a Maverick that a company who sells fuelinjection mapping software put a throttle body injector off a Chrysler K car's 2.6L Mitsubishi four. Drivabilty was great and MPG and HP both went up. 26mpg, I think the story is on the web site.
