Domestic auto maker? Ford is no more American than Toyota or Honda. Wonder when Ford will beg Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, or Canada for a bailout?

Mike -

That was kinda the point - why are we bailing out an industry that will eventually do all of its assembling outside the U.S.?

You heard it at the end of the video why there is not a plant like that here in the states. I'm opposed to bailout for the automakers, really it won't do anything but put us further in the hole. The US automakers need to completely restructure and tell the union to pound sand. There are other profitable examples of other foreign automakers producing here in the US and doing very well and the workers are compensated very very fairly IMO.

This plant is not even making cars for the US market. Nearly all of Ford's Brazlian lineup is different then US fords. Sorry to break it to you, but Ford exists in other markets outside the United States. They have plants in South America, Europe, Australia, etc...

I second that, they are asking for Canadian assistance. All 3 GM, Ford and Chrysler employ a lot of Canadian workers. What really sucks is that if these companies go bankrupt, the only people who ar egoing to losse are their employees.

Thanks for "breaking" that to me, but I was already aware of factories outside the US. The point still remains: Unless the Big 2-1/2 kill the UAW's stranglehold there won't BE any domestic factories eventually, bailout or not.
