Truck Improvement After Service?

Im sure alot of you know about everything that i went through with this 2004 f150 screw 4.6 during the summer. The truck has run fine since, not that impressed with MPG but hey, its a truck and i love it. So about 2 weeks ago when it started getting real cold in western PA, i started getting a whistle at higher RPMs till the truck ran a couple minutes ( I dont let the truck warm up) and i did some research and most signs pointed towards the alternator, so i knew the drivers rear axle seal was leaking a bit too. I took it in to have the alternator checked and rear axle seal replaced, both which came under my extended warranty thank god! And wouldnt you know that the one day i take my truck in for them to listen to the sound the alternator makes when its cold, it turns out to be 45* that day! But they said it was making other noises too and not putting out the right voltage. And today (another high 30* this morning) I didnt hear any whistle, i might have to wait till it gets colder to know for sure that the whistle was the alternator. Any whoo, got both alternator and seal replaced, about a $650 job, but i paid nothing. Well i got new diff fluid and additive and my big question is.......... Would new fluid in the diff. and an alternator putting out the right voltage have any noticeable positive affect on the way the truck runs and performs? It seems a little peppier to me but it might just be in my head. Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

just thinking out load but....

do you think that the bearings in the alternator were bad enough to put more of a load on the engine and the new alternator works normal.

That and if the alternator wasnt putting out enough power to feed all electronics correctly, like the ignition not getting enough power, something like that. Im not sure either, but i dont have the whistle/whine any more, which is nice!
