i went to fire up the 78 and 79 trucks after sitting for 3-4 months. the E-10 gas wiped out the carbs on both!!

the 2100 motorcraft on the 78 is leaking from the bowl gasket, and the brand new 600 CFM Holley on the 79 is totally screwed up.

and if they are messed up, that means that the 750 dual feed dual pumper on the 7 litre is gonna need rebuilding too.

why can't they just let us have real gas instead of this screwed up mixing crap ??

 

Gasoline whats that..?Have'nt seen that down here yet,but did see it up north are you sure it had to do we the gas or maybe from the truck sitting..

 

they have sat all year for years and start rite up. the new ethanol mix gas we have been forced to run for the past 2 years is garbage.the ethanol attracts water, and is really hard on carburetors.

plus, it goes bad in about 2 months as compared to 8-12 months for pure gas.

i have had to drain everything. the lawn mower, the welder, the snow blower. you name it. if it is not used every week, it has to be drained and the carb run dry, or it will not start when needed.

the local fire departments are having fits with all the ower equipment too. everything has to be drained and run dry, otherwise when they need it, it dont work.
