old farmer is starting off with a positive reputation.
3.0L 24 valve PCV valve

A little off topic but we have a 3 liter Duratec V6 in a 2001 Taurus.
Maybe the Escape would be similar.
I replaced a hard plastic tube that runs from the rear bank cam cover to the air intake just downstream of the air filter. It had rotted off at the cam cover and was causing a crankcase oil smell in the cab.
It cost $22 for a short piece of plastic pipe!
The other cam cover has a similar piece also connected to the air intake.
My question is: Where is the PCV valve? I didn't think it was in the cam cover because they both connect at the same area on the air intake, so there wouldn't be a differential in the vacuum to make air flow through the crankcase. I thought the valve would need to connect downstream of the throttle valve for it to work.
