New Guy/First truck help!!!!

hey guys, I'm going to be selling my 06 mustang that I so dearly love for a truck and the only one that I will sell it for would be a 09 4.6L 3v 6spd. I'm a college student and don't have anything to tow so I'm not really worried about towing capacity, but from what I've read the f150 can tow up to 11k pounds. I plan to take the truck on the occasional out doors adventure, hunting and camping. Other than that it'll see mainly city driving.

Although I already know what drivetrain I want, I'm not entirely sure on what other options or model to get. If at all possible I'd like to keep the msrp below 26k. I'm not sure to get the Supercab or supercrew, to be honest I'm not entirely sure what the difference is. I also don't know if i should get 4x4 or a 4x2, and would the difference of the two be dramatic? So F150 gurus, What options and trim should I get?

Supercab is a short rear door with limited leg room.....super crew is a full size rear cab...

where do you live? do you get snow? ... the difference between 4x4 and 4x2 is like
racing a mustang against a dumptruck......there is no comparison.....if your not towing than the 4.6 3 valve should do just fine.....

the stx is a sporty version of the truck, while the xlt is a more traditional truck trim line...

In that case I guess I'm leaking towards the supercab 4x4. Do you guys have any idea on what the msrp on a 4.6 3v 6spd auto Supercab 4x4, XLT or STX would be? I tried the ford website but didn't help much.

Oh, and I live in Norfolk, VA and no we don't get snow at all. When i go home to Northern VA though they occasionally get some.

I just did a little bit of research and found a couple XLT's with the 4.6L 3v and the cheapest I saw them for was 34k. What gives??? I thought that it was only a couple grand 3k+ at most above the 25k base price.

Well I guess I'll have to settle for the 4.6 2v. Can anybody tell me from personal experience your impressions of this engine in the f150?

The XLT is going to raise the price alot more. I would recommend going with the STX or XL if money is an issue.

In my opinion the 2 wheel drive is all you'll need if your doing on road driving. I live in the mountains of southwest virginia and we get quite a bit of snow. My limited slip rearend has never left me stuck, and it will save you a lot off the sticker price and at the gas pump.

You can go to ford's website and build and price these with different options.

ride over to beach ford, I hear they have quite a few in stock check them out and decide what you want. unless you plan on taking the truck off-road, 2 wheel drive will treat you fine. the only downside with the super-cab is the leg room in the back for adults.
