Hello All,
We finally got a little snow here in the Detroit Metro Area. The tracation control allways is on even when I push the button. It lights up on the dash like it is off, even in 4x4 it is still on. Is this normal? I want it off some times like in deep snow or mud where you need to spin the tire to clean out. I did a search and found nothing and according to the owners manual it makes it sound like it should be off when it is lit up on the dash.
Tim

My "skidding car" light illuminates rarely during snow driving.
There a table on p. 261 of my manual that shows the functions and how the "skidding car" light illuminates. (Different versions of the manual may have this on a different page.)
Found this on the next page. Seems to be the information you need.

If a failure is detected in the AdvanceTrac with RSC system, the “sliding
car” icon illuminates solid in the instrument cluster message center and
will stay on. If the “sliding car” icon in the instrument cluster message
center remains on solid while the engine is running, without the
AdvanceTrac with RSC button having been pushed, have the system
serviced by an authorized dealer immediately.
