My name is Luis Astrain, I need some advise on the 460 & I was woundering if you could help me on my journey? I have a 1972 Ford / Short wheel base / F-100.

I dont know what year the first one was made but ford put a 460 in a 79 f250 c/s. From 65 to 79 the frames are the same.It will be mostly a bolt in swap if you find a donor truck with that setup
And look in the article/spec section in the start up sect

 

ya know, i might just have the perches your in need of to do that swap,maybe even the mounts, let me know.

 

You need the engine mounts, the perches and the isolators specific to the 385 engine in a seventies truck. Or purchase an aftermarket set of mounts.

You also need a 351M/400/429/460 manual bell housing or a C6 Automatic with the same pattern.

A new radiator will also need to be sourced if the truck was a six or small block V8.
