Dearborn or Kansas City?

My 09 Lariat has a Kansas City sticker on it and at a local dealer another Lariat has a Dearborn sticker on it. Why are they made in two different plants? My next question would be which plant has the best quality rating?

Interesting question. Supposedly, the finest of the line (the Platinum) is being manufactured at Dearborn. One would assume that you would make the crown jewel at the highest quality facility. But with all of the conversation regarding delayed delivery based on QC issues, one would have to wonder about that selection, and what it says about the facilities...

The QC was from items that were sent to the factory from an outside source so that has nothing to do with the quality of build from the factory it's self. But i have heard the DB plant is the better plant but hey only someone who works there could answer that. Perhaps DBderek could.

in 07 the quality from best to worst went Norfolk, Kansas City, then Dearborn for F-150 producing plants. With Norfolk being shut down, I would assume that Kansas City is the Higher quality plant, unless Dearborn has really stepped up their game.

Would be very interesting to know how many vehicle problems are due to improper assembly or bad parts...

My bet would be parts.
