That's a tough call. It depends on your abilities and of course time. The cheapest way,IMO, would be to get a harness from a junk yard. A new one would cost a few $$ I would imagine. If you do decide to make your own I may be able to get you the wiring diagrams for it. I just need the year and F250 or F350.

A few years back I had the same situation with a friends truck. We opted to leave the wiring as it was and repair the hack jobs. Everything worked on it. We replaced wires where it was cut and spliced nuerous times and resoldered and heat shrank the spliced wires.

Sorry I just checked my usual source and nothing there. I'll see if I can find them else where for you. It may take me a bit of time though.

i was in a smilar situation, i ended up doing what megawatt did, and repaired what i could, get rid of what was not needed. just take your time and following each wire and see where it goes and what it does. with your idi you should have about as much wireing as my 1970 does, shouldnt be to bad.

its still a good idea to go throught and check all the wireing in an used car or truck. i have found so many wires that dont go anywhere, even wires that come off the starter solenoid go into the cab and just end with a bare wire that could cause many problems...
