Wanting true specs on 07 F150 Please

I have an 07 F150 supercrew cab, 4x4, with 6.5 foot long box,
5.4 L motor, auto tranny, 3.73 gears, and I cannot get a solid answer on a few things.

How many Litres does the gas tank really hold, I have been given about 10 different answers?

And also if a person were to accidentally run it out of gas, will it reprime itself okay, or not, once a person puts gas in it?

No, I have not run out of gas, but I think when it reads empty, I have a lot left in reality, so have considered driving it further.

Thanks

I have an 07 5.4L 2WD SCAB with 3.73 LS. The fuel capacity is 35.7 gal. However, the owner's manual stated in page 358 that for 6.5 ft bed SCREW, 27 gal (102.2L) is standard and optional is 35.7 gal (135.1L).
I Never runs out of gas so don't know it will re-prime or not. It is bad idea to run dry or low as it will pick up all the dirt from the bottom and damage the pump.

ford-lover is correct, 27 gallon tank. Mine does the same thing, when it says empty, I normally have 4-5 gallons left.

But here's my question: Why in the world would you EVER want to push it? I've always been content to fill it up with 20-21 gallons, so I NEVER have to worry about running out!

With a modern fuel injected truck, you don't need to prime it to get it restarted if you run out of fuel, although you DO run the risk of burning out your fuel pump! Most fuel pumps need gas running through them to stay cool, so running out will likely have bad consequences on the lifespan of your pump...

Thanks guys.

I have no desire to run out of gas, or come close to it.
I just wonder why at the empty mark it seems I should still have over 20 litres left.
I assumed empty should mean really close to out of gas, not that you have a lot left.

that reserve is just something Ford has done for at least 20 yrs now. Every single Ford I've owned has had at least 3 gallons left in the tank when the needle said "E"

It costs the same to keep it empty as it does to keep it full!

Also, I was always under the impression that the 27 gallons was capacity of the tank but you could never get it that full. None of my vehicles could I ever get close to the advertised capacity, I always thought there was just room on top of the tank that wasn't abled to be filled.

The pickup for the fuel pump is always on the bottom of the fuel tank, with whatever dirt and debris may be present. Running the tank dry will not make any difference dirt wise, but it will probably damage the fuel pump, requiring replacement. Don't do it. Dan.

Its just nice to know that when it says empty, if out in the bush or something, I really have about 6 US gallons left in the tank, no need to panic.
