I have a Prime Design bug/stone deflector/shield on my truck. It is a low profile one that is almost invisilble on my black truck. I bought it on ebay a couple years ago to replace a cheapo one that broke. I would like to buy a spare one, but can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can buy one or who carries their products? Does anyone know what the website, email, phone number, address etc is for Prime Designs? I can't find them online.

I've never heard of them. Have you looked at Lund's trident series? We had one at the office for a superduty, it was billed as the lowest profile because it was taped to the hood. There was about 0.080" tape holding it off the hood. It looked terrible, but was very low profile.
The standard has been Lund's Interceptor, which is similar to everyone elses. However Lund makes several lines with varying heights. Take a look at their website, you might find something comparable.
I have nothing agains Lund, but dont want more holes or tape.
I had an EGR one that used pre-existing holes with the plastic push in nuts but it broke.
I originally had a Ford one but it broke back in '02. It had to have holes drilled.
The Prime Design one that I have required holes as well. I don't want to drill anymore holes in my hood, and I like how the PD one looks. I'm just afraid that one day it will break and I won't be able to find what I want to replace it.
As for the double sided tape. I hate that crap. It always lets loose when you don't want it to, and then when you try to get it off it won't come off. I never use that stuff, except when there is no other way.

Good double sided tape (3m) Properly applied will hold up almost indefinitely. I've tried to remove some I had applied years ago and it was a pain. The trick to application is cleaning. Clean the surface with alcohol and clean it again with alcohol and clean it again with alcohol. Then wipe the tape with alcohol so you have a second or so before it adheres.
Ford should be buying EGR bugshields, I wouldn't have expected them to be very different.
If I have to use double sided foam tape, 3M is pretty much the only one I will use. I do clean the mounting surface multiple times with rubbing alcohal. Sometimes it works fine for a while, but it just seems that half the time whatever it was that was mounted comes loose. I just don't like how that stuff works.
Why should Ford use EGR bug gaurds? That is what I had 2 of before and it only lasted 2-3 years. I got one exchaged for free. The second time it broke A'zone wouldn't do anything about it.
PD bug gaurds are very flexible, at least the ones that I have seen are.

Ford doesn't make them and I have had a few long talks to the EGR, Lund and AVS reps. EGR is the most common OE supplier for bug guards, which was great for the store, because we could buy EGR in bulk without the showy boxes and it was the same thing the dealers had but much cheaper. Granted this was 2-3 years ago. They may have switched to another manufacture.
