just a little rant.... when are people gonna start following directions? especially with turkey fryers. there was a house that burned down not too far from mine because they decided to fry a turkey under their porch. and i heard of one lost suv and several other accidents at the birds game thursday too. i followed the directions, fryed an 18lb one in the driveway while a second 18lb turkey was cooking in the oven. managed to not have any fryer explosions or boil-overs and fed 20 people later that evening. when people read directions, everyone is happy.
well last week on turkey day i drove my self on up the mountain to big murph to watch eveyone play in the larger then life mud hole right beside big murph it was a good time and when i left at 9:30 their must have been at least 150 to 200 people their and more comeing in as i left and i played in the mud a little my self too
gotta love deep fryed turkey we cook at least 2 a year
I have yet to have any deep fried turkey, though everyone I know that has, swear by it. My oldest boy was going to bring a fryer over to do it this year, then his buddy called with tickets to the Eagles game, so I have to wait. Maybe we'll do it for Christmas, I wonder how the Christmas ham will taste deep fried.

When I lived in AZ, I spent the majority of my Thanksgiving weekends down at the dunes in Cali. Everyone down there fried their turkey (including our camp) and I never saw or heard of anyone burning down anything. That doesn't mean it didn't happen but seems somewhat difficult to do (burn down the place) if a bunch of drunk idiots never burned down anything.
By the way, a fried turkey tastes FANTASTIC!! Well worth it.
On another note, anyone go hunting today? My kids were off of school so I was playin' Mr. Mom this morning until the wife got home... Can't wait to get out there next week.
