The change intervals on these trucks isn't 3000 miles. That's an old standard from 20+ years ago that the oil change companies like pushing on you because the proper change intervals don't make them as much money. Oil specifications have gotten a lot better over the years.
The maintenance schedule recommends 5,000 mile changes. You're well within that range.

i run synthetic oil and i go 10k between oil changes.been doing this for 25 years and have never had a engine failure, and rarely ever have to add a quart of oil between changes. i have 4 trucks now that i use in my business and only 01 v-10 do i have to add about 3/4 quart at around 7500 miles. these vehicles run a service route with 90% city driving. 99 v-6 chevy 265,000 miles, 01 ford 250 sd cc 4wd 140,000 miles, 05 chevy v-6 90,000 miles, and a 07 f-150 with 53,000 miles. occasionally have run blackstone reports and results were to keep doing what i have doing because results have been favorable.

I'm a 3,000 miles, or 3 month kinda guy.
My vehicles don't get alot of miles, and it's mostly city when they are driven. Oil is cheaper than an engine IMO, so I fork over the $25 every few months using the Motorcraft Semi-Synthetic.
I may start running Mobil 1 or RP in my F-150 now to provide some extra lube with the blower...but I'll still be on the 3 month/3,000 mile plan. Not sure though, been using the Motorcraft oil for many years without a single problem...kinda hard to change what ain't broken
