Making captains chairs in an Xlt

I am looking at a 2008 XLT expedition with a three way split middle row bench seat. I am wondering if I can remove the center section of the seat. The outboard positions will carry carseats.

This is a common discussion. No center arm rests is the only issue.

Not my truck.
