Fan Clutch Removal
I just read KenOO's 12-22-2004 post regarding a 3.0 Liter V6 Ranger Water Pump. The post indicates the clutch has left hand threads.
My 2001 V6 4-Liter Ranger's fan rotates such that the fan would tend to loosen a left hand clutch nut.
I smacked away at that nut today as if it is a right hand thread because of the way that the fan rotates.
I was not successful at getting the nut loose.
I have a bigger hammer. Should I use it?
Or am I in error thinking it's a right hand thread as a result of the fan rotation direction?

If you are unsure is your vehicle has left or right hand threads, you must remember that the belt turning on the pulley will always try to tighten the nut.
Now, every Ford that I've seen that has left hand threads will clearly say so on the fan shroud. However, I can't speak for some aftermarket shroud that could possibly be made in China or elsewhere.
