Anyone else? Where did u guys mount your amps? Setups look great! I'm wanting a flushmiunt screen up front for radio/cd/DVD w/ a backup cam and 2 or 3 10" subs
I built a box the same dims as the speaker box which houses the Symmetry EPX, Amp, cap and dist box. When I rebuild, I'm going to inset the amp into the speaker box.
I moved my seats up (captain's chairs). There were two holes from I believe the bench set up and then I had to drill 2 more to make mine fit. I had a box custom made that fits around the rear window motor to get the most volume in the box. I have 2 12" Alpine shallow-mount subs that sound great. My two amps are under the rear seat to run the subs and the speakers I replaced. They do not overheat despite not having a ton of room.

good stuff. i dont want to go too crazy. I listen to mostly rock/metal but some rap/r&b. doesnt need to be ear shattering but have some umph when I want it. I have a rear bench so a premade box will be fine.
would 3 8" subs have more to it than 2 10" subs? I believe back in the day when I was into this, bigger subs could go deeper in the sound spectrum.
It's my understanding that the larger dia, the easier it is for them to reach lower freqs. Meaning that smaller speakers can have the same dynamic range, but it takes more power for a 10" to produce 20hz than a 12" to produce 20hz. There is a slope like in a crossover, so you have to use an EQ to draw the upper freqs down so they all are flat.
I skipped box building week, so I'm not an expert on subs.
You have to take in account for cone mass, for how low a sub can play. Just think about home stereos they have light paper cones and play higher snappy bass where as really nice car subs (thick paper cones and plastic or metal even) play really low bass with ease. Given the box design port volume etc etc.....
