inside handle escutcheons '56
Do the inside handle escutcheons just slip over the handle shaft, sandwich the door panel upholstry, and "float" behind the door crank and the window crank......or are they somehow snug-fit onto the handle shaft?

Slip over and go along for the ride. Actually the handle holds them fairly tight against the cardboard panel.
