Smile Fishing Report

Lets get a fish report going.

I was in Riggins over the past weekend (10/17 - 10/18) and between two (I say two because I was there with a pole) of us fishing from the bank at Shorts Bar we landed 4 fish (3 keepers and 1 native) and hooked another 3 in about 12 hours of fishing using black flies with bright green corkies with and without shrimp.

I didn't spend that much time fishing, I was spent most of my time making sure that the cooler didn't float away.

Im headed up to Henrys Lake right now.
Henrys This AM. 9:01 am 11/23/08

Roads are fine. they have been cleaned & graveled. Weather seems to be clear up the pass. Just looks bad from the valley.

Wind was blowing this morning- but has settled down and it is clear water with some slush that should be gone soon.

There are some fishermen at Pitsburg (bay at Henrys)

Fish report later with pic's if that is cool?

Sure enough I get over confident about the fishing and I did not land anything yesterday.

I fished the North shore of Henrys Lake.

The water temp was between 32 to 33. I fished from 10am to 2pm, for one short bite. There were fish between 7 to 12 feet of water that I saw. No takers.

As soon as I pull my pontoon back to shore, I see 1 of the 4 guys on the shore land a nice 5 to 7 pounder and then I see my husband out in deep water land a nice fish too. Not my day for fishing. I should have tried the State Park area.

Flies I used:
Electric Black Leech
Electric Orange
Electric Green
Some olive green bugger with a gold bead on it

The shore guys were fishing with worms. They have been there all week and have done well with their limits.

Ice fishermen made the drive up from various areas hoping that the lake was frozen to be able to fish.
Not yet as of yesterday - I will find out soon enough today what the status is on the lake, my husband is headed up now to try and fish it in his pontoon if it has open water.

Sorry for a lame report

Henrys has ice across the lake - No pontoon fishing this am.

if the wind blows it might come off- or might be time for the ice fishers

You could always sneak up to Big Spring and drop a line off the bridge.
