No reason why it wouldn't work. You'll be using an absolutely bullet proof transmission. Lot's of smooth power from that V-10!! The OD will be nice too. You should be able to gear it so that it turns about 1800rpm on the highway!
That WILL be one heavy combo though. I am using the same transmission in my 55 F-600 (bolted to a 292 Y-block......pics in my gallery)
You'll probably have to add a couple of leafs to the front springs though...

As Jeff said, there was one at the Supernats a few years ago and it fit fine. The only word of advice I'd give you is find out what year the engine is? From '98 to '02 Ford had a REAL problem with the heads on the V10's and V8 Tritons. They only had 3 threads in the cyl heads for spark plugs, and after alot of miles they'd blow out the spark plugs. I've just read this on other forums, but never experinced it first hand.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
Also WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would want to measure the length of the engine and may have to go to an electric radiator fan system. I know a Cummins 6BT will fit and they're pretty long. (longer than a V-10 I think)
You will of course need to come up with engine/trans mounts.
As far as problems with spark plugs blowing out, Ford Trucks Spit Spark Plugs
It's probably worth researching on that stuff and doing the "fix" before you put it in. I think you could put helicoils in every hole to fix it....Or maybe have a machine shop re-drill and re-thread every hole for a larger plug etc....That would not be a cheap proposition....
It's so bad that Ford is refusing to fix it under warrenty claiming "it's the plug" not the head (of course you have to replace the head fix it!!!)
Just another nail in the Ford Coffin I suppose....we'll all be reminiscing about Ford (like Packard and Studebaker) in a few years I suppose.....

The V10 was a viper engine with a 6 speed trans. I met the guy (Anthony from NY) and have some pictures too.
He cut the firewall pretty deep. He told me it was difficult to drive, since the gas, brake, and clutch pedals was way over to the left.
Let me see if I can find the pics.....
Hmm...I am not finding the ones of the outside or the interior. That is the engine and the firewall though. Hope that helps.
I looked through Jet Jock's and Mr4speedford's photobucket albums and did not see the outside. Somone else might have pics of it that I am not aware of. There were a ton of us there that year.

Hey Brian B, thats not the one I was talking about. The one I was talking about was a Ford V10. It was about the same color , but SLICK and had aweful yellow colored smootie wheels on it. The fit and finish was good. I think it was around '02 or so, cause the Supernats was still in PF wher GOD meant for them to be.

Hey Brian, I didnt mean that to sound bad, just that the one we were talkin about was a real Ford. The truck was real sharp all but the wheels, but all in all that's a matter of personal taste.
Later dude
