I can weld again!

A while back I was having issues with the old MM35, made some progress with changing the tip to a longer one, but things were still not right.

So, yesterday morning I started taking things apart, cleaning all connections, inside and out, ut it back together and this sucker sings a song now,

I need a new ground strap, just due to the insulation coming off, but geez, I was smoking through some .188 box tubing today on the same setting that I had to use to be able to barely weld 1/8th inch.

Got so happy, I made a double saddle rack for the daughter (wish the digi cam was working...I painted it metallic gold ) and then cut up some stock for the frame work for a tackroom.

Damn it's a joy to have a good welder again.

Hey Dan,

I think the best thing I did was use a battery terminal cleaner on the insides of the voltage taps on the welder (wire brushed off the lead ends), but I think years of weather just built up enough corrosion so twisting the leads didn't make a good enough contact...just FYI for you MM35.

I just love the sound of frying bacon when I weld
