I would like to remove the step bar/running boards that came on my 99 F150 4X4.
How do you access the bolts from the inside? Do you first need to remove the plastic interior trim along the door opening? Is there a special tool to help do this without breaking the plastic?

Which Westin's are they? The metal step bars or the fiberglass running boards?

Well, I removed the chrome bars and it turns out they have a very convienent "nut plate" with welded studs. At first it appeared to me I would need to get a wrench on the bolt heads from the inside, but it turned out to be very simple.
