Nice setup on those seats, what do you plan to do to cover up the gas tank?
Are you going to use a console eventually?

Yes on the console, from dearborn classics. Black

black door handles from DC, i think i will paint the column and wheel black.

Black carpet, and this is what i did behind the seat.

Very nice, I was faced with the dilemma of a cover as well but I have my gas tank in the frame so my upholstery guy made a real nice panel which I love. Also I installed a nice console from a 2001 f150 and must sya love the cup holders so I drive around with my Tim's coffee.

Bill, it looks like the 65 is coming along quite nicely! When i saw it it was just a shell! I thought you had a 73-79 steering column you were putting in?

Seats I want, and I passed up on a set for $50 for some reason I can't figure out, are out of a 94-96 dodge ram. 40/20/40 split bench, very comfy with a LARGE storage compartment. my brother has a 94 and so I measured it out and I'm 90% sure it will work.

nah the red seats in the 65 is what I was talkin about.

I still find it awesome though that your two trucks are the color combo mine used to be. And after seeing the 66 next to the 65 that's what sold me on the springtime yellow.

The seat brackets are inverted in these pictures I almost made the same mistake. The flat section that sticks out shuld go under the seat for a cleaner look. I know this because I made the same misake I got the original measurements from a junker that just happened to be a true ranger and pre drilled the holes. when I put on seat brakets as you have the holes did not line up when I scrached my head and thought for a second I realized what I had done. It looks cleaner also.

Correct, that was my first trial fit and had to send Jim an e-mail to check if they were right or not.... they were swaped before any holes were drilled.

Looking nice Bill..I always loved the design of those Mustang seats. Do you sit lower, or do the brackets you made still keep you at the same height as the bench did? My wife won't let me do the conversion, she like to ride in the "girl seat" when we cruise.

You know what would look nice...a strip of chrome trim across the top of your gas tank upolstry below the window. Look forward to the finished pics.

Thanks! the seats do not sit lower.... they seem to me like you may sit a tad higher, with the bench seat it is easy to lean over the steering wheel but the buckets set you back, almost as if you were leaning back in an office chair. it is quite comfortable to drive that way, but did take a day to get used to it.

Bill, Absolutely just tell me how to get them and I'm in. I would love a set of those brackets for my slick. Just give me the instructions and count me in. Thanks in advance

Yesterday I was staring at a 68 Thunderbird. It had the bucket seats and center console still in it. I know the center console would not fit but with modification it could. What about the seats? A good fabricator could make them work, has anyone ever looked into the Thunderbird bucket seats?
