Thanks Dave Ramsey!!

Been listening to Dave for a little over a year on the radio. He got me extremely motivated to get out of debt! I just sent my last payment to Ford Motor Company, $28,759.04!!! The truck in my sig is now mine, not the banks, not Ford's. What a great feeling!!!! We owe no one except the mortgage company. My wife and 2 young girls are excited also. My rig's only got 20,500 miles on her. I'm running it till the wheels fall off!

I hope by me posting this it encourages someone else to do the same!
You can do it, I'm only 36 yrs old. Work hard and save!

Thanks

P.S. Now if Spartan would deliver on the Phalanx tuner already

Very cool!!! Great job! I listen to him also when I have time, he has motivated us to get our debts paid down. We are getting there, 1 c/c, 1 bank note on my Excursion, then the mortgage...which is getting close.

At my current pace, I will own my truck outright in may of 2010, which will be paying it off in just shy of 3 years...

Way to go!

I have been a Dave Ramsey listener for 2 years, paid off all my debt except the mortgage, and bought my first F-250 used with $8,500 cash 3 months ago. I will never have another car payment!

I think I'm paying less interest on my truck payments then my mortgage, I'll keep my truck payments for another year and a half and then be done with them instead of adding them to my mortgage. Truck is 4% and mortgage is 4.5% I think. I bought my 03 3.5 years ago for 35k and I can't wait to be done paying for it.

I hate Payments!

I owe 10 years on my house @ 4.5%
4 years on the truck @1.9%
10 years on the camper at 8%.
20 years on my office @ 6.5%

But I am putting extra coin on the camper payment every time that I can I want to have that paid off b the end of next year. And I put an extra $100 to $500/month on the mortgage for my office building every month. Once the camper is paid off, then I'll work on the office.

I prioritize the payments according to interest rates. The truck is so low I don't even worry about it.

I canceled all my Credit cards 2 years ago. They are all now paid off. I have a car note and the house. That is it! I am working on both of those. You are a rich person IF you have no debt. I can work at Wal-mart and be rich if I have no debt. AND if I get mad, I can go to the next thing with no worries. Debt is a slave master for sure!

Admittedly I make a decent living both me and my wife work + a 2 and 5 year old girls. I work as a refrigeration tech, wifes a teacher. We never go out to eat, movies etc. No summer vacation this past year, just putting as much $ away as we could. I also worked a ton of overtime + saturdays whenever I could. We have worked for everything we've got, something I'm very proud of. We started out with credit card dept, student loans etc. One by one we have been kicking the **** out of them! Yea we could afford to go on wild vacations, more toys etc. But I feel really good with the postion I'm in with the way the economy is today. Regardless of what you make you have to live within your means.

That and never touch the principal are two lessons that everyone should remember.
