Talking WAHOOOO Drove my 1953 F100 for 1st time!!

Well-my buddy got the 53 running, and the brakes working and all for 100.00 bucks.
I was shifting the 3 on the tree and it ran great!!
I need to install new exhaust-cause I am almost deaf now--haha!!
Then will cruise when I can all winter and in spring will block out the primer and paint it and detail it enough to look like a respectable ole truck!!

I am always like a kid in a candy-store when I drive one of my trucks, and especially for the 1st trip!!
If you remember this is the truck that had the bad fuel pump issue. This 53 sat for 15 yrs and only ran around the guys farm once in a while.
I am so excited!!! haha!!! thanks for listening to all my giddiness!!! Bill

I told my wife--I want a 53-56 that I can drive like I did as a 16 yr old-and drive it all yr--with no serious snow squalls, but when it is descent out. I am so excited, and I am more excited than when I buy a new car. This baby is bought and paid for,and with a little more work will be a daily driver. I will definately keep it out of the salt as much as possible--and will chassis-saver the lower 1/2 asap. I feel 16 again---wahoooo

I ran 50 mph and no rattles and steady wheel. I know I will replace some things later--but for a field find and off the road for 15 yrs---this is my way of going green!!! RECYCLING VINTAGE TIN!! Bill

Awesome to have her on the road! Don't worry about going deaf, we just read what you have to say anyway.

The 53's are a solid truck, way better than those late model 56's.

Ksmith--I am watching over my brother. I told you about him. He just had his 73 surgery and I am watching over him along with my sister. I will have my other brother drive him here and he will be staying with me full time now, till I cannot tolerate him anymore. haha!!
I am going to drive the 53 this winter for nostalgia, and love people pointing at me and saying --hey check out the old truck--and the old coot in it--LOL.....Bill
