Been busy with the trucks interior finishing the sound upgrades and installing the panels. Have a buddy coming over Friday to help install the headliner definitely a two man job.
I will have the main wire harness back Friday too and looking forward to installing that.

So, is the truck drivable? If so, how the real-life experience?

Yes it was drivable last week and will be again after I finish the wiring and the new fuel delivery system. As mentioned earlier there is a huge difference in sound quality. You can actual have a conversation as your going down the road, but a few draw backs to what the PO did and I am now correcting is he installed the electric fuel pump right under the drivers seat and not properly isolated. I'll post pictures later. I do wonder what affect the panels will have over the sound and thermo barriers.

Hey Marty,

Did you add the roof stachions to hold the headliner, or were they there already. My 51 doesn't have any!

Do you mean the standoff welded to the center of the roof? Julie checkout my thread on trans crossmember and let me know what you think. Thanks Marty

Ok the update.

I have applied just a little over 100 sq. ft. of dynamat to the interior of the cab and doors including the layer I applied under the cab. Then about 48 sq. ft. of dynaliner to the doors and cab. The effect will be dynamic, I'm basing this on the sound quality of the half finished project before the summer. It's not just the sound quality it's actually cooler in the cab because of the dynaliner. It's nice to have the doors close with a thud. As far as the price, well just checked around and the cost of the materials used have increased north of 10% since I purchase mine earlier in the year. You'll have to be the judge if the cost will fit into your project. Ultimately I think it's worth it. IMHO.

Looks great, and thanks for posting the pics here and in your gallery, I'll add to my saved threads for future ref. It helps me see what I'm in for down the road. It's hard to tell from ads / literature etc on placement and coverage like inside a door. Do you have any pics of your doors on the inside? Not sure of placement and if a small amount goes along way. As in do you need to cover the whole interior of the door skin or just a small piece or three?

AH, that's just the seaming tape, not extra crossmembers. I also have the small center standoff but initially the picture looked to be like you has runs spanners acrorr the rood of the cab - - note to planner, have eyes checked!

I looked at the drawing Havi sent you wrt the trans x-member and it looks pretty strong. I like what he's done there.
