61 uni carpet trim

Was carpeting an option in these trucks ? I have seen that some companies make carpet too go into them, but I don't see any options for a finishing trim.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

New billet trims for 61 to 66 step type cabs are available through

products

The factory had a extruded aluminum trim for these trucks but it is hard to find. Look to larger trucks for the trims, as it was used to protect the floor mat from damage when stepping up into the larger units..

Good site a little pricey but at least you can get them. I have two door pockets that need the trim pieces.

Bob the web link is to ddavidv's website mongrel motorsports,

The trims were prototyped on my 63 pro street truck by Wayne. Wayne also offers the billet door pocket trims..Yep there pricey but Awesome. Most of the cost is in the machine time involved and the size of the billet slug needed.

I can't believe the only step billet trim is $200. a pair!

Who has a truck the originals are NOT worn? or rusted, mine are steel.

I'm going to think of something to replace mine with....and not 2 Ben Franklins!!

Something along the lines of channel steel or aluminum and a pipe bender.

Boy, you've resurrected an old post. If you're doing a "show truck" you'll probably have to go with the billet. If for a driver, you can find them. Not saying they are easy to find, you just have to be patient (I looked for the cowl trim pieces for the 64 for a year and a half.) and look around yards and swap meets etc, watch ads and ask. I picked up a set at Pate last year and another set out of my "parting out" 64.

Original application: 1964 F100/250 Custom Cab.

That's nuts! I can't believe nobody makes these in bulk....are we talking about the same trim that gets stepped on everytime the owner slides into his/her truck?

Mine is a 61 F-100 and they are steel. This Florida truck isn't very rusty but these sill plate trims are rusted and worn.

I would dare say EVERY restorer would want a set if they weren't so overpriced. Yeah I do understand why the price is so high.

I'm hopefull but really can't imagine finding a used set that are passable.
