after lift install question ???
for anyone that has installed a big lift
im looking to putting an 8 inch on my 250... after you install the lift with some 37 tires do you have to get the wheels realigned and stuff???? is there anything else you have to do after the install to make sure everything works properly?

A good friend of mine has put an 8 inch lift on his 06 and he was told the driveshaft had to be done, so he had them lengthened and the diffs turned a bit for alignment.
I cannot see much difference from and 04 to an 06.
For peace of mind I would do it if going up to an 8 inch lift, thats a BIG lift.
The most I have ever done was a 4 inch lift, and that was on my 04.

With that amount of shift on the center pin, possibly even at 6".
You may get some vibration from insufficient spine engagement otherwise.

I cant say about a reg. cab, as im pretty sure they have a single piece rear shaft. My Crew cab/short bed has a two piece and I run an 8'' with only a 2'' carrier bearing drop.
I have a 4 link setup in the front of mine so my adjustment on pinion angle and caster is pretty much unlimited.
But with that said I would be willing to bet tht with a single piece rear shaft you will need it lengthened. Its not a huge deal, pull it out and take it to a reputable driveline shop and they can just put you a new tube in it any length you need. Its not that expensive. Think last one I had done was $125 including balancing. Dont let it scare you, put taht biatch in the air. Also with an 8'' I would go with a 38'' tire!!!
