ID needed on a 2.8 engine ...

I need to estimate the cost of an overhaul on a Ford 2.8 V6 which is currently powering a Kit Car that looks lilke an old 1930's Mercedes Convertible ...

The Vehicle is Las Vegas and I am currently near Lake Tahoe, California ...

If someone can tell me where to find the Engine ID numbers on the Block, I will have my Son get that information, then I'll post those numbers here later and hopefully someone can tell me the year and the application (Mustang, Capri, Pickup, etc.) so I can order the correct parts ...

I did a Google search and came up with no useful information, so I am counting on my fellows members here to bail-me-out ...

Thanks, Howard

According to my manual it says "Specific engine data is located on a label attached to the timing cover." You may have to take the number to Ford to be read.

I checked my old Bronco 2800 block and the number is fairly small, on the left side of the cylinder block near the rear, just below the deck (head gasket surface).
