7/8" oil drain plug on a 56 223?

Guys,
I finally pulled my pan and changed the oil. While doing so, I painted it and thought I would put a new copper washer on the drainplug.
Everyone I asked (Autozone/OReilly....) told me the truck is supposed to have a 1/2" drain plug....What gives???

Do I have a pan from a F350 or something?

What do they know, They probably never seen a 223 drain plug before, just because a 78 bronco has a 1/2' plug THEY think all should! It is correct what you have.
