460 carb problems

460 carb problems

Hey guys new to the forums and fords,I recently bought a 1987 F250,the guy I purchased it off put a new motor in and it ran great for a while but in the last couple days after the engine has come to temp and I kick it off high idle it idles fine but once I start driving and come to a stop it is ideling high again and this happens every time,I'm kinda a dummy when it comes to carbs so any ideas would be appreciated.

Choke linkage is mal-adjusted.

Holley Performance Technical Service Department

The choke butterfly valve needs to be adjusted and checked for proper operation. That will probably fix your problem.
