Unhappy Need help with stock radio

Last week while listening to a cd, my radio tuned over to AM1600 and displayed a message "Alert Report". The radio showed I was still on "CD" and I had to press the "CD" button to go back to listening to the disc. I went cruising through the radio stations to determine it was 1600AM. This has also happened while listening to the radio and while on "Aux" for my sat. radio.
It has increased in frequency and is annoying as hell.
I have the stock high end radio-6 disc in dash etc.
Anyone know what the "Alert Report" is?

Help!!

It almost sounds like the radio is automatically tuning to emergency reports, like a weather alert or whatever. Never heard of that functionality though.

If that's what it's doing, but the station is not playing an alert, it would seem the station is tagging normal broadcast as an alert by mistake. How that would be done, I dunno.

Thats what I thought too

But it's a gospel station, and there are no weather warnings to be had.
The manual doesn't address this at all...

Its a Test Alert Message from Ford Motor corp. trying to inform you of great sales pricing on the 2009 F-150 !!!! or it could be to request you donate money to keep them afloat so you can still buy parts!!!! Ha Ha Ha

** UPDATE**
I received a suggestion to turn the RDS off ( even though RDS only works on FM) and now 3 days later it hasn't happened again. My guess is that the AM station has a screwed up signal that was causing a traffic alert.

One RDS feature is real time traffic alerts where avaliable, which will interupt your CD, cassete, or SAT radio, and though I havent read specifically that it will interupt your AM broadcast I cant think of a reason it would not.
