got some snow

looks like were getting some good snow, hopfully we get even more, although driving back from center to Bismarck tonight was not fun. but the ole ford did good, large snow drifts and whiteouts. only thing that slowed me down was poor to no visibility. maby going to go down to the desert in the morning don't know for sure.

Yeah it was pretty crazy yesterday, glad that I have an in town job! Got to do a little drift bustin this mourning on the way to work.

Tried to convince the wife to drive the '05 to work, but she wouldn't. I think she's to afraid that something would happen (accident, or whatever). I need to get the '79 out tomarow.

Got about 9" of snow here, power went out last night about 8:30, and didn't come back on until almost 8:00 this morning. No heat, no lights, no running water. Could be worse, a lot of people still don't have their power back on.

I was going to clear snow today, but the tractor won't start. Big 3' - 6' drifts across the yard, so i guess I'm not going anywhere. At least I don't have to work until Monday night.

Well, we wanted snow, and we got it!

Disapointing snow storm

Nothing but ice and cold wind here in Valley city.

Talking with a kid at work (19 yrs old, I'm thirty I can call him a kid) this mourning, he was telling me how he had to go down to the Desert last night to pull his buddy out. And now his Ramcharger is stuck down there with water in the trans. I told him how if I was in his shoes and one of my friends called me at 10pm to come out and pull them out of a 3ft water hole that they intentionally drove into, and where wheeling alone in the first place, well I think you know what I would say.

It's one thing to help a guy out that loses contol and goes in the ditch. But to risk tearing up my equipment in the middle of the night because some one was looking for a good time, not gonna happen.

He's currently looking for a lifted 4x to pull his rig out.............he never did ask me, I think he knew the answer . I'll post up on Monday with the conclusion.

iv gotten calls like that before early in the morning and went out there to pull someone out, but im surly not going to go into the same hole that he is stuck in to pull him out or for that matter even walking threw the watter to hook his truck up, i would just run enough line out there so i could pull from solid ground, and tell him there better be a steak dinner in it for me. i go wheeling alone out there but i don't try anything stupid unless i know there is someone there to pull me out. hell i can go all over the desert without even locking in 4wd you have to pick a hard line or go in one of the few deep mud pits to get stuck.

That's what I told him, he has never been to the Desert till last night. I've been tearing around there for years and it's only as bad as you make it. You want to bury your rig up to the frame you can, just don't bite off more than you can chew and don't b***h when your stuck and something breaks.

The snow was fun. I got to finally test out 4x4 in my 78. I am actually quite impressed with how the Supercab handles in those situations. I've only done winter wheeling in dads standard cab. I was a bit concerned because that supercab has the turning radius of a freight train... especially in 4x4. I am really debating lockers... that would be fun

Otherwise the snow sucked. My snowblowers couldn't handle the 2 inches of slush at the bottom so I had to do it all by hand. Then the left over slush/water would freeze instantly. I am amazed at how fast it melted away. Then again, I guess 40's will take care of wet snow really quick.

Just in time for New Year`s eve we`re about to get hit fairly in the next 24 hours snow and hi winds. Travel is not recommended by late tomorrow afternoon. We`ll get what you got or worse or nothing........who knows.

I'm used to the piddly *** **** they call snow in North Dakota this year I'm starting to feel like I'm in Michigan again, just a little less snow and colder...lol almost feels like every other day its another 4-6 inches. and the snow blower that normally barely gets used is now not enough, i manage an 11 unit apartment building so that is a lot of snow blowing...lol

I sold my snowmobile on Sunday so you all can plan on a whole lot more snow this winter.
