Bear claw latches on 36

Hey everyone.
This is my first post on the early forum I generally hang out in the bumpside forum but here it goes.
My father in law has a 1936 pickup and the door latches have gone to hell.
I repaired them when we rebuilt the truck in 2000 but they have finally quit working.
We are now looking at bear claw latches. Has anyone installed them in this vintage of truck and used the o.e. handles?
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

There's a real slick setup:

Bear Claw Latch Activators & Hardware

This is a cable relase setup that accepts a square handle post. I saw it at the Street Rod Nationals, looks like a great setup.

I have spent hours upon hours scouring the internet for exactly this stuff.
Thank you 41inWV. I knew someone on this forum would come through for me.
This is going to make my project a lot easier.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I like this idea (the bearclaw latches). Please post up with your results once you get them and let us know how they worked out for you...I was thinking about doing the same for my '36 as well.
