Shifting into 4X4 LOW range

I'm having trouble figuring out the proper way to shift into 4WD Low range on a consistant basis.

The owners manual doesn't really explain the process well.

I can get into it by trial and error but not really sure what I've done to do it.

Also, how do you get out of it, usually I have to try different things and finally I get out.

Bring the truck to a complete stop. Place the trans in "N" and keep your foot on the brake pedal. Turn the selector to 4wd Low. You may hear a couple of clucks as the transfer case does its job. Once the indicator light on the dash comes on, you're now in 4-low and you may shift to the desired gear.

Same thing to come out of 4WDL. Stop, shift to neutral, shift out of low, put it in drive and go.
