I am in the process of buying a lifted f250 cc. it has 4 kodiak steps but 2 of them are not working. I have been told that the motors have gone bad. I was also told that the motors are actually window motors out of a pontiac sunfire. does anyone know if this is true? how hard is it to replace the motor in these steps? any insight would be appreciated. thanks guys

 

i have the same question
as mine are either messing up or something motors semms to work but they make a grinding noise once the close

 

Was there ever an answer on this one? My recently acquired truck has the side winders that make actuation noises when the doors open and close, but the steps don't move.

 

I know this is an old thread but this may help someone who still has these steps....
