Y block Bill is starting off with a positive reputation.
3.0 Dohc

I know this is not truck related but I have a 2000 mercury Sable with the 24 valve DOHC, When the car is cold it is acting as if it is not getting enough gas and runs rough like it wants to stall, once it is warmed up it is fine and if you give it a little gas it is fine. when it is initially started it revs up and is fine but when it drops down to auto idle it appears to go to too low an idle.

does anyone know which sensor is causing this?

Bobby82490 is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
Most likely its the IAC, the Idle Air Controller.
