My wife & I want to trade off our 1997 Blazer LS 4x4. We saw a 1997 Explorer Limited with the 5.0 with 67,000 miles, @ FALLON AUTO MALL the area FORD dealer. Just what we wanted. We need a little more SUV to tow our 5000# cargo trailer. We are looking at the 5.0 Explorers AWD & Dodge Durango 4x4 with 5.2 or 5.9 V8s.
So I made an offer of my Blazer & $3000 cash for their Explorer. After they asked for an offer & wasted an hour of our time, they came back telling us that Explorer was $10,800 & we could have it for $8400. So you say OK so what. Well The Kelly Blue Book lists that Explorer with the low miles with every option available in that year in EXCELLENT CONDITION which this didn't have EVERY option nor in EXCELLENT condition at $6600 RETAIL. NADA shows it at $5700 RETAIL. I post this because if you are looking for a dealership that is FAIR, Then STAY OUT of the FALLON AUTO MALL in Fallon NV. Jones West Ford in Reno is one of the most crooked dealership in Nevada & they offer FAIRER deals than FALLON. Just a warning if your looking for a vehicle, take your own VASELINE if you decide to check the FALLON AUTO MALL out. Because you'll need it.

Hey $8400 might have been a good deal if they were giving you $6000 for the Blazer.

Yea Agreed, They wanted $5200 in cash & our Blazer, PLUS TAX, LIC,& DOC FEES. So over $6000 in cash.
For $6000 cash in Reno I can buy about any Explorer 4x4 with 100,000 miles up to around 2002-03 in good shape, & we could keep our Blazer 4x4. The reason I want to trade it is it isn't good to tow with, plus room to park anymore than the 3 vehicles we have is a problem. Everything we own is paid for so we have no car notes & don't want any.

Yeah, that's pretty much a suck deal. Aren't you in AZ, why are buying in Nevada?
Ps. BTW, don't you still owe us pics of your backyard? LOL

NO, I'm in Northern Nevada. My wife took a teaching job here. We are both native Nevadans and spent the last 2 years in Arizona. Since this Chapter has all but died I remain a member of the ARIZONA CHAPTER. I also know many of the Arizona members personally from G2Gs we had while in Arizona.
