I dont think I have ever posted in this thread, and I dont know why. My family is coming up for the rally, we'll be the one's nobody knows, lol. We are arriving on Thursday, leaving on Sunday. I have been corresponding with Joe via email, but with his unfortunate situation I thought it may be a good idea to come on here and at least introduce myself to a few other people so I am not a total stranger at the rally. My wife, Carrie, and 2 Kids Clay (6) and Sarah (4), will be with me. We are pretty new to RVing, we just got out first 5th wheel in February. We have been on 5 trips so far, but this will be our first one with other families, so bear with us!
Well, I can't wait to meet everyone, let me know if there's anything in particular I can do to help out....or anything in particular to look out for, lol.
Bob
Oh, do y'all reccomend Hwy 321 from I-40 to get to the campground?

It's all good, my family also will be coming down for the rally and I don't know anybody either but that's what the meet&greet is for on Friday. We will also be arriving on Thursday also with wife Brenda, daughter Jess(16), daughter's friend and Roxy our 5 year old German Shepard. We have only owned our TT for a year and a half so would not consider us experts. So maybe we can get together for a beer Thursday night and get a jump on everybody else.
As far as directions to campground I will be following my GPS and have not even looked at a map yet

Yes 321 from I-40 is the best way to go. That way you won't fight Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg traffic. It is located at a trolley stop on the left. It is the next to last stop from Gatlinburg so it will be the second one you see coming from I-40. I believe the first one is on the right though.
Joe asked me to head up the racing this year. So this is what I am thinking...
There are a couple tracks that are a WHOLE lot closer to the campground than they were last year.
One,"Lazer Port Fun Center", has a lazer tag and black light mini-golf course. The cars are fast but not so much to do for the little kids.
Here: http://www.lazerportfuncenter.com/
Another, "The Track", has mini golf, bumper boats, Kids country and a big thrills area with things for the big kids in all of us.
Here: http://www.pigeonforgetrack.com/
Although the fast cars at the lazer place sounds fun I believe "The Track" will be our best bet. The cars are most likely still faster than the ones we went to last year but they also have tracks that a 4 year old 3' and taller can ride with an adult. This is the only place that allows that to happen in Pigeon Forge.
On another note they have packages that can be bought for 15, 30 or 50 people in 1,2 or 3 hour increments. For 15 people they are $15/person for one hour and $25/per for two hours. If we have 30 people they are even cheaper than that. Otherwise we can each go as individuals but we won't get these discounts.
Let me know your thoughts on this. I would like some input on this. Not really sure if we will be able to coordinate a group thing at the last minute like this but I will sure put forth the effort if there is enough interest.
I am assuming it is like a pay-one-price for all the attractions if we do the group rate thing? If so, I can tell you that my family would be in on that! Sounds like a good deal. Thanks for the direction advice also. I look forward to meeting everyone, glad to know I'm not the only newbie.

I looked at the website and if you want alot of tickets to use there are other options but runs ≈ $75 - $80 for 30 tickets and you get a Go-Card that lets you jump in line.
Most rides are one to two tickets each. This may be a better option for those who want to stay longer and don't want to hurry up and ride in the time alloted.
Welcome to the group. I think that you will definitely have a great time with this group and learn a little more about camping in addition to the laundry list of things you will want to do to your truck when you leave...
Neal, thanks for handling the go cart event. Last year it sounded like it was a very competitive but fun time. But who won? The gassers or the oil burners? I can’t remember.
The Sweeney's will be there on Thursday afternoon after we tackle the scenic drive up and through the National Park. They say once you hit the peak, it’s all downhill from there!
We have a medium sized message white board that we will put outside the meeting area (wherever Mary our campground host allows us to congregate) so that everyone knows where to meet and what will be happening at what time. So look for that board and the Excursion with Georgia plates.
If you need a local contact , my cell phone number is 770-330-1281 in case you run into any issues travelling or need to find the group, although its shouldn't be too hard to find this motley crew.
See you all this weekend!
Michael and Joyce Sweeney
