What would YOU do?

Hey guys,

Got a 97' F150 with stock exhaust and Stock Rims.

Right now I found a guy willing to sell me a set of 16 inch American Racing rims with tires (P255/70R16), for $250.

I'm also considering upgrading the exhaust system to something with a Magnaflow or Flowmaster.

So, throw out some opinions:

1) Good deal on the wheels?

2) Recommendations on the exhaust. I'm looking to spend up to $300 and am wondering if I that's about a going rate for local shops (Philly, PA).

Of course I'll also do some footwork to find prices, and shops, but I figured I'd check with you guys as well.

Thanks for any input!

What engine is in it? That will make a difference in what exhaust is best. My v6 is just straight piped and it sounds pretty good. But I have always been a fan of glasspacks on a v8. Tires could be a good deal, it depends on what kind of tires and what kind of wear, and what kind of shape the rims are in. I personally like the AR rims, but not enough to upgrade from my stock rims.

Magnaflow Resonator Tips

My 97 4.2L has 3.5"X22" 15 deg slash cut Magnaflow Stainless Resonator Tips. It souns great for a V6 (sets off car alarms) I bought a set for my dads truck for $69.80(thats 2 tips with shipping) so if you shop around you should be able to find them around that price. I bought mine from www.Paceparts.com but it looks like they raised their price quite a bit since April.

MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust

I will look around for some lower priced ones.

Whoops. It's a 5.4l engine.

The tires are Futura Scramblers.

Wow my exhaust isn't real loud, but it has a nice rumble under 2500rpms. I think as long as the tread is good on the tires then its a pretty good deal.

I like the magnaflow exhaust better, but you can't go wrong with either one. The deal on the wheels sound reasonable for the price.
