Question E6SE heads

So what I've read these heads are junk, flow like crap and were on 86 5.0 H.O. motors. I have a 93 f150 5.0, if I port the crap out of them would they flow better then my heads on my truck??

the E6 heads arent really junk, you just need to know which cam to run with them. i had a 87 grand marquis motor with the E6 heads, had the stock roller cam but put a weiand X-cellerator intake on it. it would pull hard from idle to 5K rpm's but after that it was worthless. and these were stock unported. if you grind the smog humps out of the exhaust ports and match the ports to gasket you should be fine with a mild lift cam and upgraded intake. just my opinion

The E7TE heads on the 93 are better.

Ah the much maligned E6SE heads. Yes they have smaller intake ports and different combustion chambers. A friend put in an 86 HO Mustang motor with these heads and a 1985 stock 4V intake in his older TBird and the improvement over the crappy 83 stock 302 was huge. He also was concerned about mileage, and doesn't rev much (the car has an AOD trans and 2.73 diffy gears), so this seemed good for him.

I had those on the 5.8 I just took out. And yes they were heavily worked over, exhaust fully ported and opened up, intake ports cleaned up but not altered, and the combustion chamber wall around the intake valve laid back about 5 degrees. All this produced a head that flowed as well or better than the E7 and produced great TQ.
