Upfitter Switch Question

In my 08 F250 SD, it is equipped with the 4 Upfitter Switches. When hooking up an external electrical supply such as a sattelite radio or GPS, do I simply hook up the "HOT/power" wire from the accessroy to one of the upfitter wires and then just find a ground? If this is the case, do I then flick the upfitter switch to power the accessory?
