Just joined 5 mins ago. I have a 2001 F 250 w/ 7.3 Litre diesel. Walked up to the truck yesterday and found a pool of engine oil under it, started it and oil came poring out. The local diesel mech says its the injector pump. Might need to be replaced or maybe just a new seal. Is this something any of you know about?

I just joined the club. I have been scanning the forums for some time and using the info to get a bit more familiar with my truck. I posted in the Heavy duty section an issue that I was having with a recent egr delete kit that I just had installed with some questions also. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I found this forum yesterday while looking for info on ball joint replacement. Found racerguys play by play tutorial. He did this very well. I am having difficulty getting the drivers side axle out (see the thread) I have a 2003 4X4 5.4L SD. I look forward to learning some good stuff here. Thanx, Bill

Hello - Ford Newb here

Hello,

I just picked up a F250 SD, with 210K miles on the clock. It's fully loaded, with just about all the options. Got the 5.4lL v8.

Just wondering if there is anything I need to look out for??

Also, the truck did not come with an owners manual, is there one available for download somehwhere on here??

Thanks for all your help, this is a great site!!

Introduction

On August 21, 2009, I took delivery of a used 2008 Ford F350 Super Duty 1-Ton Silver Metallic Rear Dual Wheel Crew Cab Lariat, 4WD 6.4-Liter V8 Turbo Powerstroke Diesel Engine, 5-Speed Automatic Transmission with Tow/Haul, and 4.10:1 axle ratio. The truck was manufactured in February 2007, put in service on April 30, 2007, and only had 11,650 miles and 354 hours when I took delivery. Essentially a brand new truck with a barely broken-in diesel. The hitch receiver was virginal and the truck bed was immaculate, as was the interior. Aside from everyday use, I intend to use the truck to tow a 34´ Airstream Classic Limited travel trailer and fly fish throughout the North American Continent.

Simply wanted to introduce myself to forum members.

OK so I'm a Swede from Minnesota, Colorado, Nebraska, Texas but I drive a 2001 F250 SD SC SB 4X4 7.3 and tow a Laredo 27.5 fiver.
Looks like a good site. I'll be checking out the Diesel section.

I have that same truck. Same problem last week. Check on top of the valley in the front. There is a oil reservoir there with a manifold behind it to feed oil to the cams. I had a broken elbow that one of the hoses attached to. Turned out to be not too expensive. More labor than anything. Good luck.

Introduction

Hi all! I lurk around a lot of forums, as I have a lot of vehicles. My truck has been so reliable most of the time that I've had little reason for visiting these forums, but I'm sure the 'ol truck will have some trouble before too long.

My repair experience is limited to yard tractors, an old Porsche 924, old Mercedes Benz Diesels, VW Diesels, extensive modification of a '93 Mazda RX-7, renovation of a '75 Airstream trailer, and half a dozen Japanese motorcycles (and currently a Chinese bike!) over the last decade or so. I'm new to the Ford since I only drive it when I've got something pretty big that needs towed, but it doesn't seem to be too complicated. Basically I'm just here for the esoteric stuff, like my first post in the clutch interlock section.

I want to apologize for my first post. Apparently I made waves as multiple members made a point to say they wanted to "NOT" welcome me to the forum, and attacked my character because I believe the clutch interlock switch creates more problems than it solves. I never thought I'd get in a heated argument over a clutch interlock switch, but hey, I kind of enjoy the banter! (except for the personal jabs)

I'm looking forward to a lot of good discussions!

Congratulations sdetweil! Is that the same truck that you told me about last week? Jeeze, it looks just like mine except for the brush bumper and mine had fewer miles. LOL Have fun.

Thanks. (I guess all the white duallys will look-a-alike!

Yes, same one... lowest mileage of all the used we looked at save 1. and the only 4x2 we found.. didn't like the 4x4 ride/sound.

Gotta find a bed cover now.. like to keep stuff dry. won't GN tow til next year sometime.
