Wanted to try to post, and say THANKS, for all the information on the FTE site.
I have been wanting a 3/4 ton for a while, and had it down between a Ford and Chevrolet. Likes some things about both, the the Ford won out. I purchased a 2008 Ford F-250 Diesel Lariat 4X4 crew cab, and got a great price on it from a dealer trying to move some trucks.
I viewed this site daily while doing my research, and have come back as often, to learn more about the truck. I was concerned about the mileage, but with a 3.55 rear end, I have recorded as high as 19.5.
Learning about the site, as well, so may be a while before I figure out how to put a picture on.
THANKS to everyone for all the information. If helped me make a decision, and I couldn't be happier with the truck I came home with.

Hello everyone...I just joined tonite...I own a 2003 F-250 Super Duty ,Extra Cab,4X4 with a V-10,Automatic (getting lazy....and the bad knees said NO MORE CLUCHES...at least not every day) I run 285/75/16 Remmington "Mud Brutes" on it....sometimes we NEED that kind of traction up here in the Western Mountains of Maine...
Have wanted a Ford for a while, and used this site extensively to research, and make sure I was taking the right step. I came home with a 2008 F-250 SD Lariat diesel 4X4, Crew Cab. Very happy with the truck - great price from a dealer trying to move some trucks, and with a 3.55 rear end, I am getting about 19.5 (driving easily).
I keep referring to the site to keep learning about the truck. I look forward to becoming more acquainted with the site. THANKS for the great information!
If nothing else, posting here gets your post count up by one more

New guy with his first Super Duty. Went shopping for a half ton truck with room in back for the kids, and 4-wheel drive. Instead, I ended up with a 2000 F-350 crew cab, short box, 4x4, V10 dually. 83k miles and has been well-maintained. More truck than I need, but too good a deal to pass up.
A Lariat LE no less good job. Not to many of those around.

Hello fellow FTE members. We just purchased a nice, 1997 Super Duty flatbed. It's equipped with a 7.5L and automatic with a 12 ft bed and 15,000 GVW rating.
It seems to be great so far as is this forum. I'm looking forward to participating here.
[Edit] Also, I just tried posting a question in the SD Forum but apparently I am being blocked from doing so. How do I go about posting in that forum?
Ok, I see what you mean, this new member area is in the SD forum. However, last night I was able to post here in the New Member area, yet last night when I attempted to start a new thread I kept getting an error message stating that it was an invalid thread, etc.
I sent a message to the admin last night and this morning I was able to post a new thread. So all is well.
robo21, that's weird, would have loved to know what the solution to that one was.
Anyway, WELCOME to FTE!
And yes, for the '97 Superduty, this is the correct place to post. It does, however, have more in common with the '96 f-series, so sometimes you might get more answers posting in that forum.
But we have lots of guys here in the SD forum that know far too much about '97 Superdutys, it seems

I had a similar problem. The first time I tried posting to this thread, everything appeared to work correctly, but the post didn't show up. I tried to start a couple of new threads in the testing forum, and got the invalid thread error.
Several hours later (and after filling out the help request form) my missing post on this thread, and one of my threads in the testing forum suddenly appeared. Every post since then has worked fine.
Any chance first-time posters' posts are held in a queue for an admin to check out? Maybe as a means to stop spammers from registering?
