Newbie

Hi All,
I too am new to the forum. I had signed up a while back for a old clunker I was fixing up, but it got taken away for charity

I now own a 2002 f250 which I purchased from a coworker back in Feb 09. Has been a great truck thus far. It only had 49k miles on it with a plow.

I have replaced or fixed the: exhaust, pass front hub (bearings went), added new corner lights, shocks, sway bar bushings and had it painted (done today) as it had some dings and dents I wanted fixed. Other than those small items, it is a great truck. I want to get underneath it and touch up some rough spots with undercoating, thats next on the list.

But I'd like to say the info I have received from the forum, has been huge!!!

I love the step by step how to's, that is a great feature. Keep up the good work and thanks for the help.

Ron

New member in SE MICH

Joined the forums cuz I'm looking to learn a bit about Excursions. I previously owned an '03 F350 7.3l which we loved. We sold it due for various reasons years ago - and of course now I regret that - so now I'm looking for something.

My needs are:

1. Family hauler. I've got 3 kids which are currently all using some type of car seat. They have friends that we sometimes would like to invite with us for various activities but our current vehicles make this impossible. Go big or go home.

2. Tow truck. I race cars and need a tow vehicle...thus the previous F350. But since I need the interior space for personnel I think the Excursion is the better choice for me.

Anyway, budget constraints (this will purely be an extra vehicle) will likely force me to choose the V10 vs the diesel but I'm ok with that. Just need to learn about them, what mods are available, etc.

Cheers.

Jack Money

If you can find one with a 7.3 diesel that fits your budget - you can get a surprising amount of performance from just an intake, exhaust and a good tuner... maybe a set of gauges to keep an eye on things. (I mostly point this out because you mentioned being into racing... which I took to mean that you'd like your trucks to be a little quicker as well.) :-)

Welcome to the forum!

Hi y'all!
I've done it! I finally pulled the trigger and bought my dream truck! It's a 2009, F250 SD, Crew Cab, 6.5' Bed, 4 X 4, 5.4l and I love it! I haven't been able to do many mods to it yet other than Rhino liner. Yet being the key word.
Well, my name's Bill, and I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I've been lurking all night and have already found a boatload of info. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you guru types later...
Thanks for being there

New to the Forum

Hello fellow Ford friends. I recently hung up my 2005 2500 HD Silverado Diesel. Took me a while to consider a Ford again. I was not in favor of purchasing from Government Motors. Had a 1999 F150 that was a lemon. Kind of soured me on Fords for a while. Just picked up my 2010 F250 PS Diesel. Lariat, crew cab, short bed, 3.55 rear. Drove it the first tank full on the interstate like an old lady. 16.7mpg. Much better than the 8-10 I was reading about.

Post Signature length

I'm not a new member but was wandering how some of you guys have exceeded the 6 line signature limit? I've tried and am always reminded of the 6 line signature limit.

swap a 6.0 for a 7.3

What, if any, problems will I have if I want to swap my 2005 f350 6.0 diesel with an older 7.3 turbo diesel?

Welcome to the forum!
Would love to but the price difference - from what I've seen on Autotrader at least - is pretty significant between the V10 and a diesel. I've probably got a month or so til I do this so I'll keep watching around. Problem is my budget is not very big.

Probably in the spring I will put a few $$$ into some mild upgrades if there are some that offer something for the bucks. Hoping there is a decent chip and maybe an exhaust. I expect to do dampers as well but don't really plan to upgrade...standard Bilstein's is my plan.

Cheers.

Considering 06 Ford 500 purchase

Found one for around $7000. Haven't closed the deal - hesitant! Mileage is 148,xxx and was used by a pharma rep/commercial. Books at $12k+ and other than high mileage it's been in a wreck shortly after purchased, happened in 06 on left side. Seen photos of left side and looks excellent. Wasn't 05 the first year for the 500?

Anyone have any suggestions or input feel free to chime in.
