Hey! my name is brandon, i just recently bought a 2001 F250 SD 5.4 triton. reg. cab, long bed 4x2. the dealer i bought it from isnt a big dealer, just a used car lot and calls the color copper... not sure if thats the real name of the color or not but it works!

so far my plans for the truck are to put a hitch on it since it doesnt have one, and tow my mowers around to make a few bucks and a couple times a year tow my buddies 2001 BMW M3 to and from the track... shes not a show winner, but shes not a beater either... and shes won a spot in the garage as well.

Exclamation Transmission HELP

Hi all> I am new to FTE. I own too many Fords, well maybe not. Anyway I have a 2001 F250 SD 4x w/ a 7.3 turbo. It has 110,000 on it. The trouble started yesterday w/ the tranny. When I go to move, the tranny will shift in to first and second but at around 15 miles mph it feels like I tied a chain to the bumber and a tree stump and the tree stump won. I stop, go to take off again and it repeats itself. HELP!!!!
Any thoughts would be appreciated.. Thanks, Tony

Smile fuse f2. 41

Hi All, I hope I'm in the right spot now. I have a 07 f350 CC KR DRW. Having trouble with fuse f2 41 it blows instantly. Power windows and radio doesn't work. A/c is fully charged and doesn't work either. Everything else works. Garage says test on instrument cluster freezes at mileage. They mentioned a micro processor in the cluster.

New User, Old username

Hi -

I have posted a few things today trying to find out about Excursions & 7.3 vs. 6.0 diesel issues. My deceased husband signed on to this site in 2000, he died in 2004. I didn't even know he was registered here, found out when I tried to sign up as new user this morning using the email address! Anyway, I have 2 1997 7.3 PSD's - an F350 4x4 Crewcab & an F250 2WD Crewcab. I've had the F250 since 1999, the F350 since May 2008. Really like both trucks, although transmission went out on the F250 at 48K miles. Rebuilt by wonderful man who rebuilt it with an F350 transmission & machined his own parts to fit. Great truck after that work. The F250 has just over 200K miles, the F350 has about 155K - both going strong. Had to put new brakes on both of them recently, but they had factory brakes until just about a month ago!!! My brother says it is because I never USE the brakes.............

No pics for now - the trucks are both dirty & not fit for photographs. We have a drought going on, dusty & dirty farm premises don't make pretty trucks!

My fiance' has 2003 F150 4x4 also. We might be looking to buy an Excursion, haven't decided yet, but one truck will have to go if we do!

Howdy, noob. Bought a 2000 F350 7.3L Dually w/100k miles yesterday. Drove it 7 miles. Ate dinner. Went to start it, plenty of battery but won't turn over. No starter solenoid click. Guessing its Park Neutral Interlock related. Haven't tried bypassing solenoid yet.

Hi All,
I also have lurked around this site for a while having been through four trucks over the last couple years. All 4x4 because I live in Grass Valley, CA., which is in the sierra foothills and 4x4's are a requirement during the winter. One truck was a 1 ton dually, Dump. It was a great vehicle and handy to have when I was doing fire wood. I recently bought a 2002, 4x4, 7.3 diesel, lariat, super cab. I like it best of the ones I owned. It has only 57,000 miles. "They" say this is just the break in period for a diesel. It has an electrical problem though. I will post about my problem later. Good to be officially lurking.

newbie

Hello
Just purchased a new (leftover) 08 f250 s/c 6.4L. Just cruising the forum looking for some possible answers on some questions about the truck. First forum also! So it's a double learning experience.
So far looks like a great place/group.

Welcome to all the new guys & gals. As Art mentioned, if you have questions about your truck, just start a new thread, and you'll get some answers. If you're just browsing through the forum and reading a thread out of general interest, don't be shy about asking questions if you read something you don't understand.

Lots of good information here at FTE, and you can learn more than you thought about your truck, but sometimes we use abbreviations that can make life confusing when your new. Remember, there are no dumb questions.

I ran across this forum today and decided to join due to all the good information I have found browsing. Thank you to all who have taken time to answer many of the questions being asked. I look forward to participating and sharing information on my '04 F250 4x4 v10 CrewCab.

Not being a mechanic myself but wanna be do-it-yourself 'er, I will certainly have lots of questions.

Thanks,
Brent
