Helo, New to these forums but not Ford trucks. My name is Nathan and I own an 86 F-150 regular cab 4WD 302, and 87 Bronco 302, 89 F250 crew cad 2WD. I finally got tired of getting the 2WD stuck and pulling it out but yet not being able to handle the load in my half ton (and the wife was tired of them all breaking down). So I went and bought myself a beauty on E-Bay. Here is the link eBay Motors: Ford : F-350 (item 140316430934 end time Apr-30-09 19:33:21 PDT)

I don't have much experience with diesel trucks, but what I do know is this truck is a beast and drives great. It came with no cat and no muffler and is loud.

Anyhow, I've already been trolling around the 6.0 forums to find more info out. But I was wondering if anyone could answer my first easy question. What was the factory numbering for the gear shift? It has a ball on the shift lever so I'm at a bit of a debate with my buddy wether it said
R - 1 - 3 - OD
L - 2 - 4 -
or if it was
R - 2 - 4 - 6
1 - 3 - 5 -
Maybe someone who has one can clear this up with me. I was only able to drive it around the block for 5 mins and didn't even have time to use reverse. Truck ships to me by Thursday next week and I can't wait!

Hello all!

Hello peeps. Brand new ford owner here and I feel like a idiot. I purchased a 2003 ford 250 superduty with the 6.0 because a neighbor had one and bragged how great it was. I've taken a ride in it a few times and thought so too. Little did I know...lol
I got a decent deal. 98000 miles and $16000.00. The truck is super clean and runs like a champ and was reported as one previous owner, but then I come on here see that the 2003 6.O is known for trouble. I don't have a extended warranty on the truck. They wanted close to $2000.00 more for and not only could I not really afford that, I just didn't know I needed one.
Other than a oasis report which I've requested is there anything else I should look for? Any sounds I should be listening for that might give a warning?
The wife has been yelling at me all day because she says once again I bought off impulse withuit adequate research. I fear she might be right but pleasse don't tell her that.

Thank you,
Rick

Welcome aboard everybody! Great to have you here. Enjoy the site and browse the forums for any info you may need. If you can't find it, just post a question. We've all been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt.

racefan1965...don't be discouraged. There are many '03 owners that have had excellent service out of their trucks with little or no problem. Here are some links to get you started:

In this first link, look at post #12 for excellent advice from bismic.

Hi from Oz

Hi everyone,

I just found this site tonight and needed to spend a few hours , just to find my way around.

It looks like it holds a wealth of info from a great deal of FORD owners.

My curent vehicles include.

96 Ford 1 ton Ute..Shop Hack
69 Ford F350 Long w/b flat deck.
46 Ford Anglia Van /3" chop sbc/glide 9"
47 Ford Anglia Coupe
46 Ford Anglia Tourer
34 Ford 3 window coupe..Tupperware

Not that is any thing wrong with other brands....it just seems like my shed is full up with Fords.

Any way on with the show and I will probably be hanging out in the classic trucks section

Ozzie Bob......
